Though really a sunny place Venice is still Venice in The rain and venice is about the people to their place in relationship to buildings and canals

A Splendid and dramatic scene of a wonderful place though some would ocer dramatic I believe some of his paintings were used in theatres as backgrounds

The Balcony (1868-9) :Eduard Manet

The people are looking out from the balcony rather well to do peole and very comfortable with their place in life.
The actual painting is delightful. The Ironwork and the way it divides up the white dresses also the fact that the dresses are not just white,different shades of white and grey.
There are quite a few triangles in the painting as well
